- "They are strong, battalions of Orcs of the Eye, and countless companies of Men of a new sort we have not met before. Not tall, but broad and grim, bearded like dwarves, wielding great axes. Out of some savage land in the wide East they come, we deem. They hold the northward road; and many have passed on into Anórien."
- —Ingold, The Return of the King
Khamul, the Shadow of the East, can permanently summon a troop of mighty Black Easterlings to the battlefield. They are strong heroic units armed with axes made of heavy crow beaks which inflict heavy damage to buildings standing in the way of Mordor. They are limited to three battalions at one time and are summoned by Khamul through his level 10 ability, Vassals of the Ringwraith. The Easterlings are very tanky units which can be used as effectively as a Battering Ram. They are quite versatile troops since their small size allows them to be summoned almost anywhere and move around the battlefield quickly. Also, like all heroic units, they heal and regenerate troops at all times.

Strategy[]
Black Easterlings must be used to destroy enemy buildings at all costs. Because of how tanky they are they can be used on aggressive stance and will take down a building in a matter of seconds. Along with that, since they cost nothing and can be summoned infinitely by Khamul on the spot, they are a great source of units. However, one must be careful to understand that even though they are summonable they still cost command points; this plays into how they can be used and how many should be summoned.
