- "Here was one with an air of high nobility such as Aragorn at times revealed, less high perhaps, yet also less incalculable and remote: one of the Kings of Men born into a later time, but touched with the wisdom and sadness of the Elder Race. He knew now why Beregond spoke his name with love. He was a captain that men would follow, that he would follow, even under the shadow of the black wings."
- —The Return of the King, "The Siege of Gondor"
Recruit Faramir, son of Denethor and brother of Boromir, Prince of Gondor and Captain of the Ithilien Rangers. He is a great leader of Men and is able to switch between his sword, bow, and mount a horse to go to battle alongside the Gondor Knights. This makes him a quite versatile hero, which can help in different aspects of the battle. As of the 4.5.3 update, he is no longer found in the Ranger Tents; instead, he is recruited from the Archery Range.

Strategy[]
Faramir is one of the most versatile heroes in the game due to his support powers. His Toggle Weapon and his Knight/Ranger Toggle allow him to help any group of units in the Gondor army. He can provide specific buffs to each group of units in order to improve their strengths with Prince of Ithilien. His Captain of Gondor can instantly upgrade units to higher levels, making your army stronger and saving money that could have been used on Banner Carriers. Faramir's Proven Value can allow him to improve his own sword skills and let him last longer in combat. It will also let him level up faster. Finally, his Crippling makes him a powerful monster killer and also lets him take down fleeing heroes. One of the main problems with Faramir is that he does not have as much health as other Gondor heroes, so keeping him with other units is key. If you keep him close to his loyal Ithilien Rangers and level them up constantly, together they can become a force to be reckoned with.
