The Pitch Throwers are a new unit in Rohan which specialize in dealing damage to buildings from a medium range using their pouch of inflamed pitch as weapons. Their mobility as infantry makes them valuable for harassing enemy buildings or getting rid of enemy siege machines. They have the advantage of being a ranged unit that deals immediate bonus damage against buildings without needing to be upgraded like Yeomen.

Pitch Throwers - The Pitch Throwers hurl burning pitch pouches which are strong against buildings and machines. (Passive ability)
Upgrades[]
The Pitch Throwers have access to the following upgrades:
Banner Carrier - This upgrade can only be given to a level 1 battalion and will promote it to level 2. At level 2 the battalion can regenerate units when out of combat. Cost: 200.
Heavy Armor - Increases the armor, hit points and damage resistance of the unit to ranged damage. Changes the unit's armor set to EdainArcherHeavyArmor. Cost: 300
