Stone-troll Lair is Misty Mountains settlement building. It generates resources and enables training of Stone-trolls and recruitment of troll hero battalion Bert, Tom and Bill.
Level up[]
The settlement buildings and Fissure level up differently than other Misty Mountains structures. Rather than recruiting heroes, Stone-troll Lair levels up from exp gained of nearby enemies killed. The main level up mechanic is the purchase of upgrade in Loot Hoard:
Empowerment of the Wilderness - The warriors of Goblin-Town share a small part of their loot with their wild relatives. As long as the Loot Hoard isn't destroyed, all buildings on settlements will slowly gain experience. Research Cost: 600

Wild Counterpart[]
Neutral Troll Lair can also be summoned by Misty Mountains spellbook power Pact of Hatred. The summoned building doesn't generate resources and doesn't level up but it can still recruit units if taken control with Untamed Allegiance. More information can be read on Wild Lairs page.
